Separate Budgets
Headphone and environmental exposure always stay separate. SoundBudget does not invent a combined health score.
Headphones and environment
Two separate weekly sound budgets built from measurements already recorded by Apple Health.
SoundBudget turns headphone and environmental sound-exposure measurements from iPhone and Apple Watch into a calm, understandable overview. See both rolling seven-day budgets together, daily contributions, a 28-day history, the most significant recorded interval and measurement coverage without combining the two sources into a misleading overall score.
Product story
Headphone and environmental exposure always stay separate. SoundBudget does not invent a combined health score.
Follow the current seven-day result using a reference based on WHO/ITU guidance: 80 dB(A) for 40 hours.
Understand how individual days contributed to the current weekly budget instead of seeing only one final percentage.
See when the recorded interval with the largest dose contribution occurred, how long it lasted, its level and its share of that day’s dose—without guessing what caused it.
Select a day to inspect its dose contribution, recorded duration, equivalent level, peak level and environmental coverage when relevant.
Measurement coverage and missing-data states make it clear when an environmental result may be incomplete. Unmeasured time is never presented as silence.
View separate budgets on Apple Watch and add a headphone or environment complication to a supported watch face, or the corresponding widget to Smart Stack. Update time and an outdated-data state make clear that this is not a live reading.
Add both budgets to the Home Screen or keep a selected source on the Lock Screen. Widgets use a locally prepared summary and clearly indicate missing or outdated data.
No account, advertising, analytics or tracking. Apple Health data is read with permission and processed on your devices.
Features
A clear overview of the practical things the app is built to cover.
SoundBudget reads headphone and environmental sound-exposure measurements from Apple Health only after you grant permission. Calculations stay on your devices. Derived summaries—not raw health samples—are stored locally for iPhone and Apple Watch widgets. Background refresh timing is controlled by Apple systems, and widget extensions do not access Apple Health directly. The app does not write health data, operate a user-data backend, or include advertising, analytics or tracking.
SoundBudget is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent health conditions. Results depend on measurements recorded by Apple devices, and missing measurements do not mean silence or low exposure. The app does not replace professional hearing care or Apple system alerts.
