Privacy Policy — VinylShelf
This policy describes how VinylShelf ("the app") handles information.
Summary
No account is required to use the app.
The app contains no advertising and no third-party tracking for analytics or marketing.
Your catalog and settings are stored locally on your device unless you choose an optional backup or online feature described below.
Biutimi does not sell your data.
Data on your device
Information you enter or import, including record metadata, cover images, notes, values, storage details and loan information, is kept in the app's local storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is protected by Apple's platform security.
Optional iCloud backup
When you explicitly create an iCloud backup, the app copies a backup of your catalog, cover images and storage information to the app's container in your Apple iCloud account.
Biutimi cannot access that container. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Online services
Barcode lookup: When you start a barcode lookup, the app sends the barcode and a requested country or storefront to Apple's iTunes Search API. Apple returns possible album metadata, artwork locations and a link to the matched album in Apple Music. Album artwork shown in barcode lookup results is loaded temporarily from Apple and displayed with a link to the matched album in Apple Music. VinylShelf does not save this artwork as your record cover. You can add your own cover photo using the camera or photo library. Apple may process standard network information, such as your IP address, under Apple's privacy policy.
Exchange rates
To keep currency estimates current, the app automatically requests a public exchange-rate table from the Frankfurter API at most once every 12 hours.
The request does not include your catalog, entered amounts, selected records or other app content.
Frankfurter states that its API does not collect personal data, while its public service uses Cloudflare, which may process basic network information.
Biutimi does not receive or retain the barcode lookup or exchange-rate requests on a Biutimi server.
The app does not send your cover photos, notes, storage details or loan information to these online services.
Permissions
The app may request access to the camera when you choose to take a cover photo and to the photo library when you choose an existing image.
You can deny or revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
The app does not request access to your location.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete individual content where the app provides that option or delete the app.
A file backup remains wherever you save it until you delete it.
The latest iCloud backup remains in your iCloud account until it is replaced or you remove the app's iCloud data through Apple's iCloud storage management.
Requests to online services are used to return the requested result. Biutimi does not retain them.
Data we do not collect
We do not operate a Biutimi server that stores your personal catalog, cover photos, notes, storage details or loan information.
We do not use advertising identifiers and do not track you across apps or websites.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do.
